Dear Walton Education Foundation:

I am writing to thank you for your support to the Classroom Grant, as administered by the Walton Education Foundation, funds were available for me to purchase computers and disks for students to have access to new technology tools in my classroom. St. Joe Community Foundation played a crucial role in us meeting our goal.

Thanks to the generous contribution we received from this organization. Students were able to complete task and earn high school elective credits, gain experience needed to complete courses in a virtual classroom due to faster completion rates during preparation processes; and increase student performance measure due to impact of grant aided teacher to better prepare students for college and career readiness during engagement.

Original Grant Overview

Goal

Our goal is to be awarded this grant to purchase new computers that allow students to work online without interruptions. High School and Middle students who are enrolled in CIW online courses such as Digital Information Technology, Business Internet Associate and other Business Software Computer Applications will be provided new technology tools to improve learning and their academic performance.

What will be done with my students

Teacher will engage students in technology focus activities to provoke problem solving and critical thinking. Teacher will instruct students as they enter virtual portals to complete their classroom assignments, tests and exams via Internet, using computers to complete virtual courses. Teacher will counsel students who complete Florida Shines career inventories, create resumes, presentations, conduct research, compose paragraphs, essays and save data in an effective learning environment. Student will save projects on disc that allows them to work from remote locations while preparing for future college and career readiness.

Benefits to my students

The benefits of receiving grant for new computers and disc drives: will make student learning process easier, student will earn high school credit, improve student test scores on ELA, ACT/SAT and in virtual classrooms due to faster completion rates during preparation processes. Increase student performance measure due to impact of grant will aid teacher to better prepare students for college and career readiness during engagement. Every student will have a better chance of meeting all certification requirements and/or acceptance in higher education institutions.

Budget Narrative

As outlined in the items section, all funds will be managed by school bookkeeper to purchase (5) Computers price at $185.00 each. In addition, (7) jump drives will be purchased at $7.00 each for student use.
