Goal

I want to provide a real-world experience for my students to gain an understanding of energy, circuits, and loads.

What will be done with my students

Students will explore the world of renewable energy by creating and testing different designs for a wind turbine. They will explore how pitch of the blade can affect the speed at which the blades turn. They will also learn how to set up an experiment and use the scientific method to test our results.

Benefits to my students

Students learn how engineers transform wind energy into electrical energy by building their own miniature wind turbines and measuring the electrical current they produce. They explore how design and position affect the electrical energy production.
