Goal

Our STEM and Magnet programs have the space and interest in expanding our technology to include 3D printing solutions for our students as they prepare for high school. Engineering, Art, Design, and programming are important parts of our magnet theme.

What will be done with my students

Students will create projects using Open Source shareware to design everyday solutions like cell phone cases, wire holders, motor cases, and invention prototypes.

Benefits to my students

3D design and printing brings a high level of engagement to students with all interests. As our middle school students enter 6th grade with strong computer skills that they can apply to their imagination to design and print real inventions.

Budget Narrative

The 3D printer and filament work together to print student projects into real-life creations. The requested filament will be used to ensure that as many students as possible are able to have their projects printed to take home and use for their intended purpose.
