Goal

The goal is to enhance student learning using educational technology. Through the use of the iPad as well as technology programs adopted by Collier County Public Schools, all fifth grade students will explore many reading, language arts, math, science, and social studies standards independently or collaboratively through technology. 

What will be done with my students

In fifth grade students are required to have an abundance of skills using technology in order to be successful with the curriculum as well as testing. IPads in the classroom enhance student learning, empower students to take a chance, and increase confidence. IN the classroom iPads become an additional resource for students and teachers to meet the needs of the curriculum as well as allow students to be comfortable with technology before taking state mandated tests. In our classroom students will be using the iPad for iReady, Type to Learn, Fast Math, Board Builder, Discovery Education, Class Dojo, Mimeo Connect, Word, Power Point etc. and many more across curriculum resources. 

Benefits to my students

In our classroom we have a total of six student computers. Each of the programs adopted by the district are either completed by students individually or with partners. With six computers this makes it very difficult for students to get on the computer to enhance their learning and ensure they are reaching the maximum benefit from the programs in place. By having the additional technology resources more students are able to access the programs for longer time to build their knowledge in each subject area while the teacher gives small group instruction to those to reinforce skills. 

Budget Narrative

Four classroom Ipads, and four dual layer protective cases. Also, Air watch must be loaded and purchased for each iPad in order to be used in the count. Any contribution would be greatly appreciated.
