Bob and Kathy Buchanan - $700.00
To motivate students by celebrating their successes in pursuing personal and academic goals.
Students will need to be prepared for random classroom visits by the "Prize Patrol". Administration, faculty and staff will randomly enter classroom to monitor and recognize student's achievements in reaching personal and academic goals such as improved grades, attendance, being to class on time, completing homework, etc.. Students reaching these goals will have an opportunity to pick a prize in recognition of their achievements. These students will act as models for other students that may not have reached their goal and provide motivation to keep working toward achievement.
The prizes provide positive reinforcement for students to make and achieve personal and academic goals in support of the PBS (positive behavior support) program at East Naples Middle. Students who are showing their GATOR (Gratitude, Achievement, Teamwork, Ownership, Respect) traits are gaining important character education and become role models for others. By celebrating goal setting, this provides students with the important life skill of setting short and long term goals for future success.
