Goal

My goal is to have all students, no matter what the disability, economic status, or motivation, participate in the Sunshine State Young Reader Award incentive program.

What will be done with my students

Students will work in a small literacy groups. They will use the school iPad (along with a headphone splitter and headphones) to listen to an audio book and follow along with the printed text. Then students will work together to complete tasks/assignments or projects at the end of each chapter or section.

Benefits to my students

All students will have the opportunity to participate in a small literacy group throughout the year (and future years) to enhance their understanding of the reading targets/standards. These items will definitely be shared across my 5th grade team.

Budget Narrative

I am asking for 6 books to complete a small literacy group set of Fortunately, the MIlk by Neil Gaiman. I am also requesting the audiobook so students can listen to the book as they follow along.
