Thank you to the following investor for funding this grant.
Bob and Kathy Buchanan - $535.50
To increase the positive choices that the students make and create a new identity that the students have of themselves as they improve and grow their social, emotional and academic skills.
The students are currently classified as being under the domain of Emotional/Behavioral Disabilities. A behavioral management program that consistently rewards academic and social appropriate behavior will be in place with a graph chart system where the students can see their achievements grow and be rewarded at the different levels of success with physical items such as school clothing. This external measure will help the students internally understand what is expected of them and how to obtain those expectations that will lead to being integrated back into the regular school population.
The behavioral program will be used to help students increase control over their social and academic behavior and improve their relations with others. As the students develop better choices and display positive actions to replace negative reactions they will grow as both a student and as a person and have a new identity that they will view themselves as and as others will view them. The long term benefit is that the students will work their way back into the regular classroom and fit right in.
We have a tax free voucher from Target and all food and cologne items were priced from that store. The Palmetto Ridge shirts are the final prize and should be on par to being exited from the self-contain classroom into the regular education classrooms. They can be purchased from the Activity Office or on line. All money will be handled by the Behavioral Specialist, Rhonda McDaniel.
