Goal

To purchase a class set of concert dresses and tuxedos for the students in the GGHS Wind Ensemble. The Wind Ensemble is the highest level concert band at Golden Gate High School where the elite musicians perform for local concerts and local and state level assessments. The addition of a concert uniform will give the band a distinguished look that reflects their high level of performance. 

What will be done with my students

Students will wear the concert dresses and tuxedos for all concerts performed during the school year. This includes the Prism Concert, Reflections Concert, District Music Performance Assessment, State Music Performance Assessment, and the Solo & Ensemble Music Performance Assessment. The dresses and tuxedos will be maintained in the band room and will be used with all future Wind Ensemble students. 

Benefits to my students

45 students will benefit this year, with the number of students impacted increasing each year.

The majority of bands performing for the State Music Performance Assessment have a standard uniform that reflects their high level of musical achievement. Many students in our program would be unable to afford to purchase a tuxedo/dress of their own. Supplying a class set allows students to overcome this financial barrier and perform with confidence at both the district and state levels. The students have worked hard to perform at a high level, and are deserving of a uniform that compliments their musical ability. 

Budget Narrative

The total cost to provide a uniform for every student is $3688.00. I am asking for half of the cost of the uniforms to be covered. The GGHS Band will provide the other half through fundraising to instill a sense of ownership and pride in their new uniforms.
