The students will investigate the impact of famous Americans, historical events, and landmarks on US history while being engaged in high interest nonfiction books.
Students will have the opportunity to learn about famous Americans and landmarks by reading engaging nonfiction books that focus on famous Americans, popular landmarks, and detailed accounts of famous events in history. The books are filled with interesting cartoon-style illustrations, time lines, and additional resources. As the students learn about the geography of North America, the foundation of American history, and famous American Citizens they can read an additional source that is filled with interesting facts.
The students will enjoy reading these nonfiction books that allow them to learn fun and interesting facts about historical people, places, and landmarks. The books will give the students another source while completing research and writing opportunities.
The books requested will be additional sources to the 2nd grade Social Studies curriculum.
