Original Grant Overview

Goal

Art Club students will design and produce a mural for Gulfview that will embody the theme of Learning is Forever.

What will be done with my students

Art Club students will decide on a famous quote by admirable person, then illustrate. They will do a painted mock up of approved design. Students will then draw and paint, using glaze on white bisque tiles to complete mural. Teacher will fire tiles here at GVM and then issue district work order to mount on wall.

Benefits to my students

The population of Gulfview Middle students, parents, and staff will share an inspirational moment as they view this community art project. Pride and an enhanced sense of community will be gained at our school with this public art.
Art club students will learn about graphics and cereramic design, as well as find gratification in creating a permanent artwork for Gulfview future.

Budget Narrative

Firing can be done at Gulfview Middle. We currently have tile setters in our inventory from past murals. We also have various mosaic tiles to do do an artistic border that have donated.
