The goal for Pickle ball for all is to focus on educating a vulnerable community about the benefits of living an active healthy lifestyle.
The game of Pickle ball is a pro- social sport that brings people together in an environment that nurtures parents, students and teachers of all skill levels.
During Physical Education class and recess time, the students will have the opportunity to play one of the fastest growing sports in America. By learning how to play the game of Pickle Ball, the students will be proactive about their activity choices during recess, after school, and pe classes.
The Highland Leaders will be able to apply new knowledge which in turn will engage student learning and increase physical activity.
The benefits of Pickle ball For All promotes a healthy lifestyle because the game is easy to learn and the game engages students who like competition as well as students who would just like to participate in a pro- social environment.
Many of the educational standards are covered by learning how to play this game. For example, the students learn about sportsmanship and accepting the outcome of the game. Other important learning targets include eye hand coordination, striking skills and most importantly how to work together as a team.
