Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 50

The new Color Guard equipment did exactly what we were hoping it would do.  It gave our cadets a much stronger desire to support our community because their flag carriers and helmets are not in poor condition anymore.   We take part in around 75 color guard events a year and when these students stand in front of community members--many of them veterans--they have to look their best...and they do now!   When we present our National colors at any venue, we need to do it as professionally as possible.   I can't thank you enough for your support and our color guard members thank you too.

Original Grant Overview

Goal

To equip our students with new, serviceable equipment so they can better perform their color guard support missions for our community and our school.

What will be done with my students

We provide over 50 color guards a year in service to our community at events such as Heartwalk, Relay for Life, Naples Christmas Parade, NAMI Walk, ARTIS Naples Patriotic Pops, Veterans events/ceremonies, schools and so much more. The majority of the equipment we have now needs to be replaced as the items have been on hand for many years.

Benefits to my students

When our cadets stand in front of hundreds of people and present our National Colors, they need to look as sharp and professional as possible because of the solemn nature of what their duty represents. With the proper equipment, these cadets will continue to take pride and grow as they learn the rights, responsibilities and privileges of being American citizens.
