Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 100

Our students had a great time planning, building, and racing their STEAM cars.  They learned a lot about force and motion and what makes things move!

Original Grant Overview

Goal

My goal is for my students to practice their problem-solving skills while learning about Science.

What will be done with my students

All of our third graders will build their own STEAM race cars with the kits from this project. The students will have to problem-solve to build their cars and make them go as far as they can.
Each third-grade class will host their own car race and the winners from each class will compete against each other to determine an overall third-grade winner!

Benefits to my students

While building the cars the students will use their creativity and problem-solving skills. Students will be using their perseverance character trait to get their cars just right. The students will learn about force and motion and will have a little friendly competition along the way!

Budget Narrative

This grant will benefit all five third grade classrooms at Avalon Elementary. The entire grade level will participate in this fun project!
