Impact to My Classroom

The arrival of the Cricut machine was greatly recieved by both students and staff. Right away a small group of students was trained on using the machine as well as its digital software. Students were eager to design and create. A student leadership team utilized it to design their club shirts. Schoolwide posters and projects were also supported through the unique offerings of the machine. Additionally, the media center was able to use it to create new signage that has been very helpful in helping students locate materials in the Media Center.

Original Grant Overview

Goal

To provide students with a tool to create do-it-yourself projects for use in the Makerspace station.

What will be done with my students

Students will be trained to use the "design and cut" system and will be able to create unique projects to decorate and enhance.

Benefits to my students

The Cricut machine along with its online cloud-based design program allows users to get creative! Students will be able to bring their creative ideas to life. Using the accompanying technology, student will create a design and then have the ability to transfer it to vinyl and apply their design to just about anything! Giving students the opportunity to create and design is awesome for building confidence and developing their imagination.

Budget Narrative

The budget includes the purchase of the machine as well as an array of colors of vinyl adhesive sheets. The vinyl sheets are consumable and this request allows for enough vinyl to support numerous projects.
