“Help! I can't hear my Ipad.” has impacted all 17 of my amazing students. We received our ipad minis at the beginning of the year and got the news that we would be able to keep them all year long! We all were over the moon about this news. Once we got them and started using them in the classroom one small problem came up. The students couldn’t hear their ipad and I couldn’t hear my students! We needed some new headphones for them as soon as possible! This is when I decided to write this grant.

The headphone we are supplied with are not the most comfortable things around. When the students are using the ipad or computer they often take their headphones off and rub their ears from the headphones hurting. Even sometimes they just put the headphone around their necks since they do not want them pushing on their ears. I realized that we not only need new headphones for ipads we also need to get new ones for our computers. This is why I asked to purchase 12 new headphones.

Since receiving the headphones it has been amazing. The students were so excited to be able to hear their ipads and I was excited as well to be able to hear my students. These headphones has made learning much more comfortable and useful. Since having the new headphone the students do not have to take them off throughout their work anymore. They are able to work quietly and comfortably. This results in them focusing their attention on the task instead of worrying about their headphones. Having the headphone at our computers and ipads has changed the way we use technology.

Original Grant Overview

Goal

Give students new comfortable fitting headphones for their ipads and computers in the classroom.

What will be done with my students

Students are always on the computer or their ipads during the course of the day. With all the noises going on it is hard to hear what the teacher is saying or even what the iPad or computer is saying. These will allow all students to have headphones that fit them and that are comfortable.

Benefits to my students

My ears hurt Ms. Delgado! Help! I can't hear this iPad. These headphones don't work! This is something I hear daily. The headphones provided for our classroom tend to be years old and really hurt the student's ears. When having computers and ipads in the classroom it is a must to have headphones so that the students can hear what each device is saying. We love listening to learning videos constantly on our ipads. It tends to be more of a burden to listen to them rather than a pleasure. Students will be provided with headphones that fit their ears and that are comfortable! This will allow them to listen and play more educational games on the ipad and computers without constantly having to stop because their headphones aren't working or hurt.
