Our goal is to improve and expand our school garden so that it will be a vibrant area for students to be responsible and reap the benefits of their hard work. Our goal is for our community garden to be accessible to all members of our school.
Students will work together to plant herbs, fruits, and vegetables. They will use the supplies outlined in this request to maintain the school garden. The garden will be integrated into science lessons across different grade levels.
Students will benefit socially because they will synergize together when tending the plots. They will benefit educationally because the garden will be a hands-on science center that can be used in a wide variety of ways. It will be another way for us to involve parents and community members in our school community. Students will also have the nutritional benefit of healthy foods at snack each week, as well as taking home home-grown food to share with their families.
We are requesting tools to use to improve our school's community garden. We are requesting live fruit, vegetable, and herb plants for students to tend and harvest. We are requesting soil and other necessary materials and objects for the expansion and success of our school community garden.
