The goal is to provide access to art supplies to all students. Many students do not have the funding to buy anything but the basics. I would like to be able to provide my classes with crayons, colored pencils, and markers so that it alleviates some financial strain for them.

Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 40

Over the course of a school day, I see two classes as we are partially departmentalized. I teach my homeroom students reading, writing, centers, and science. I then switch and teach my partner class science again. In science specifically, we are always doing experiments and projects that require a lot of art materials. Having 40 students can be a challenge financially, especially when we need to provide them all with markers, crayons, and colored pencils. Because of this grant, I was able to buy large quantities of these items and my students use them multiple times a week. They have helped us to complete projects, posters, reports, and assignments on a daily basis. We use them all the time!

Original Grant Overview

Goal

The goal is to provide access to art supplies to all students. Many students do not have the funding to buy anything but the basics. I would like to be able to provide my classes with crayons, colored pencils, and markers so that it alleviates some financial strain for them.

What will be done with my students

Crayons, colored pencils, and markers are constantly used in an elementary school classroom. Students use them on a daily basis to sketch, fill in, chart, or even take notes. Specifically, my students use these materials to track their data binders and keep tabs on their achievements.

Benefits to my students

Crayons, colored pencils, and markers benefit my students in a variety of ways. First, it helps provide a resource that students may not have the financial ability to purchase themselves. Additionally, the resources will be used to assist in projects, class assignments, and tracking student data.

Budget Narrative

Each classpack of the bulk markers, crayons, and colored pencils will be ordered off of Amazon. Shipping will be free through Prime. Each item comes in a classpack with enough utensils for multiple classes to utilize. We will only need one classpack of each of the packs of utensils.
