Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 35

I am happy to report that our We Dine Together club had close to 35-40 members in attendance on a bi-weekly basis. It is hard to put a number on how many students were impacted b/c our We Dine Members did activities that affected the entire student body (chalk art during finals, encouraging notes during valentines day, welcoming new students to our campus, etc.)  With your funds we were able to purchase pizza's for lunch time meetings, shirts for club members which provided a sense of belonging and board games/crafts that gave a safe place for our we dine members to come to during lunch time (which can be a hard time during middle school)

Original Grant Overview

Goal

To provide a sense of community and belonging within our student body. Students learn better when they feel connected to their friends and larger school community. We want all students to feel welcomed and safe at North Naples Middle.

What will be done with my students

Students will:
- Provide school tours,
-help new students with their locker,
-familiarize new student with campus and answer any questions they may have.
-invite new students to sit with them at lunch. (We Dine Together)
- reach out to all students in the mornings and lunchtime who appear to be alone or isolated.
-attend weekly meetings to help facilitate this process and brainstorm ways to reach more students who may need peer support/friendship

Benefits to my students

The Students will be able to:
-make connections with peers they otherwise may not interact with
-create a positive social atmosphere on our campus
-Have a safe haven to go without fear of rejection
