Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 89

Good Morning!

I just wanted to share that the kindergarten students at Palmetto Elementary School has the most wonderful experience at The Naples Zoo on February 25, 2020. The students enjoyed many things from the boat ride to see the monkeys and the giraffes; seeing how tall they really are!! They were so overjoyed to be able to experience the zoo as most had never been to TheNaples Zoo nontheless any zoo.  I was thrilled, as was all of the teachers to be able to share this.  I thank you Champions of Learning and our generous donors for helping our students be able to have this day. Please see the attached photo collages of the students.  They had a blast!

Again,

Thank you!

Suzanne Pleskin

What will be done with my students

Our visit to the Zoo will include viewing exhibits and presentations. Students will have the opportunity to talk to zookeepers and learn about the animals they care for. Our Kindergarten group can experience several presentations offered by the zoo. For example, Alligator Bay Feeding, Snake Sunbathing and the Primate Expedition Cruise, where the students can learn about the animals in their natural habitat.

Benefits to my students

Your generous donation will benefit the entire 2019-2020 Kindergarten class, which will be approximately 72 students. For many this will be their first experience to our community zoo. This is a valuable opportunity for the students to see and learn about live animals.
