Impact to My Classroom

This program helped me to diagnose each students' strengths and weaknesses on the spot in real time. There was no waiting period to get papers graded to see which students needed remediation. This helped immediately see which areas I needed to focus on to prepare students for their tests. Also, it was easy and quick to see how to group students based on their knowledge and skill sets in order to move forward. Moreover, more students were impacted than my own, because another teacher saw the effects and hopped on board to use it with her classroom. Students especially loved the instant feedback I could give them and catch them before doing an enitre assignment all wrong. I could correct them after a couple mistakes instead of after having completed all the problems and having to redo everything. A big hit was also playing the games that allowed students to have a friendly competition.

Goal

To engage all my students through the use of technology and to be able to give instant feedback. This program checks for understanding, saves time and helps to increase learning gains and test scores.

What will be done with my students

I will be using this student response system, called Qwizdom, to monitor student progress. It allows me to use this program in my classroom through their devices, in which they connect to the internet, type in their answers, and I can provide instant feedback. My computer screen will instantly alert me to their answers so I can see who is getting it correct or incorrect. This will allow me to identify the students who need assistance, and provide them with what they need right on the spot. I can easily identify the weaknesses and strengths. This program also lets students answer in a game format if the teacher chooses. I have used this in my classroom and had amazing results and was able to train other teachers in my school to use it as well. Not only will my students benefit from this but also other teachers and students school wide. I have searched and shopped for many student response systems after the district decided not to replace or repair the cps clickers that the school has. Many companies were asking for tens of thousands of dollars and even required a device to be purchased or needed batteries, and/or required a fee per student. This was the cheapest product I found that is so versatile and easy to use. Only $895 fee for one year and it doesn't matter how many teachers or students use it. I only hope that I get to use this product again with your help as soon as possible.
