Goal

My goal is to provide my speech-language impaired students an opportunity to learn to be successful speakers and writers in all settings.

What will be done with my students

Students will be prompted to expand their one-word answers into complete and compound sentences. They will use a color-coded string of beads or visual poster used to help them organize their thoughts and to associate categories, functions, visual descriptions, (size, shape, color), and/or parts of given picture/topic prompts.

Benefits to my students

This multi-sensory tool will help students improve their oral and written language skills. The visual and hands-on prompts will hold their attention, increase their organization and comprehension, and will improve overall communication outcomes.

Budget Narrative

The budget includes the second edition of Expanding Expression Tool kit which consists of a classroom poster, object cards for describing, extension manual with parent program, prompt stickers for writing, and large string of color-coded beads.
