Goal

To motivate students to speak up and verbally share their ideas and/or answers with teachers and peers!

What will be done with my students

In order to make oral communication easier for those students who are either shy or soft-spoken, I will utilize a fun, throwable wireless microphone, called the "Q-Ball." Whether in a large group in the general education classroom, or a small group in the therapy room, students are often reluctant to speak up and join in the conversation or classroom discourse.

Benefits to my students

Students will be inspired to participate verbally in any school setting because they won't want to miss out on the fun! In order to facilitate oral communication and to focus on the Language Arts State Standards for verbal communication, students will engage in cooperative activities by catching the Q-Ball when it's thrown to them, and they will speak into the wireless microphone.

Budget Narrative

The Q-ball can be ordered at PEEQ.com for $179.00, with taxes and shipping the total is $200.00. It comes with a receiver that plugs into a power outlet, which is then plugged into the speakers. The microphone is wireless, and is inserted into the soft ball, which can be thrown around the room to engage students!
