The goal of this grant is to provide students with a hands on laboratory activity involving the topics of mitosis and meiosis.
Students will take control of the learning and study onion cells and other microscope slides to discover how the cells are reproduced through mitosis. They will be able to complete an in-depth laboratory experiment, collect data, and analyze their findings.
Students will be fully engaged in a hands on lab which makes the topic more approachable for all types of students. It will allow students to learn about the topics in a fun and exciting way and allow them to make real world connections. They will benefit from seeing these microscopic processes right in front of them.
