The clear masks helped me to hear my kindergarten students while they still wore their face masks I have mild to moderate hearing loss and I can have a hard time hearing my kindergarteners several of who have young speech patterns. The regular masks have added to this difficulty as I cannot see their lips and their soft voices are muffled. With these clear masks, I was able to hear my students and I did not have to ask them to repeat themselves. They were also able to see my mouth form letter sounds during phonics instruction.
These masks helped to keep the learning happening without my having to ask my students to repeat themselves They were also able to see each other's expressions and develop deeper connections to me and their peers. The students like the clear masks a lot. Even in masks they were able to develop deep connections and succeed in phonics instruction.

Goal

My goal is to be able to hear my kindergarten students while the wear their face masks by providing two clear masks for each child. I have mild to moderate hearing loss and I can have a hard time hearing my kindergarteners several of who have young speech patterns. The masks have added to this difficulty as I cannot see their lips and their soft voices are muffled. With these clear masks, I will be able to hear my students and I will not have to ask them to repeat themselves.

These masks will help to keep the learning happening without my having to ask my students to repeat themselves so that I can hear and understand them. My students will also have the benefit of seeing my lips move during phonics instruction. They will also be able to see each other's expressions and develop deeper connections to me and their peers.

By providing both myself and my students clear masks we will have better and deeper communication. This is key to developing connections and growth. This will also help them access critical content across the curriculum and will help them increase learning.
