Suncoast Credit Union - $960.00
Our goal is to increase student engagement and collaboration, by enhancing students' learning through safely integrating a variety of educational applications. All of these applications are valuable tools that will be used to support Lake Park's 6 second grade teachers and 115 second graders, by not only providing students with diverse ways for engaging in learning, but these high-quality resources will support teachers' ability to assess students' progress with a variety of fun formative assessments. Our main goal is to integrate effective educational tools that will help us to ensure Lake Park's mission of "Success for Every Student, Every Day!"
There is no question that educational applications can enhance students' learning when they are strategically integrated as a part of effective instruction and assessment. Although this current school year might look and feel a little different, our second grade team is determined to provide our P-Awesome Lake Park Learners with the best educational experience possible.
When it comes to closing the gap, teachers are at a loss, by not being able safely share books and printed content with all of their students in the classroom and during small group interventions. We want to close students’ learning gaps by taking advantage of students having 1-1 devices, through providing them with innovative and quality resources.
Most importantly, there is an immense need for additional literacy and resources that can be effectively implemented within a blended and technology rich classroom, which is why Raz-Plus will help us safely meet our students’ diverse needs. Specifically, “Raz-Plus is a blended learning platform that combines teacher-led whole-class and small-group instruction with technology-enabled resources for personalized reading practice. All resources are accessible online and available in printable, projectable, and digital formats to strengthen the connection between what is being taught and what students independently practice.”
In addition, our second grade students will benefit from being able to be provided with engaging presentations and content through the use of the award-winning Nearpop, which enables teachers to create interactive instruction and authentic assessments that can be seamlessly embedded into our online Learning Management System, Canvas.
When it comes to Brainpop Jr. and Flocabulary, they are both amazing resources that will be used to help supplement critical content across all area of the curriculum, by presenting material to students in a fun way.
As for Padlet, it is a great resource that enables teachers to embed organized content directly into Canvas, while also providing students with a quick and easy way to participate, by allowing them to display their knowledge on a collaborative Padlet/ virtual bulletin board.
Furthermore, Classkick.com enables teachers to not only provide students with a variety of educational content and editable pdf files/assessments, but it also allows teachers to virtually monitor students' progress while they are working in real time, which is an extremely valuable tool for providing students with instant feedback and helping to support the mastery of critical content.
In conclusion, a subscription to Book Creator, will enable our second grade students to take ownership of their work and help to increase our learners' self-esteem, by providing them with an effective tool for sharing and celebrating their accomplishments throughout the school-year.
All of these educational applications will be used to support Lake Park's 6 second grade teachers, because they are valuable tools that will be used to increase student engagement through the use of interactive technology, while also benefiting students by enabling them to safely access and display knowledge authentically in a variety of innovative ways. It is evident that all children are capable of achieving great success; however, it is also evident that all students learn differently. Therefore, it is not feasible to teach students with a one size fits all model, but rather, it is imperative for teachers to differentiate instruction to find ways to integrate valuable tools that have the power to enhance all students' unique strengthens, while also supporting their diverse abilities and needs. All of or P-Awesome panthers, both in-person and virtual will benefit from being providing with variety of valuable research-based and vetted instructional tools, because it will help to ensure that all students have safe access to engaging content and the ability to effectively display their knowledge.
With your contribution, Lake Park Elementary School's 6 second grade teachers will obtain subscriptions to valuable upgraded educational applications that will be used to support all 115 LPE second grade students, which include the integration of Raz-Plus ($209 annually), Nearpod ($120 annually), ClassKick.com ($96 annually), Padlet ($120 annually), Book Creator ($120), Flocabulary ($120 annually), and BrainPop jr.
