Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 300

This site has been a wealth of information!  I have been able to apply what I've learned to the benefit of students and our staff!

For example, I shared with teachers how to use bitmoji to liven up their classrooms, Lessons, and social media posts and how to incorporate digital storytelling into their classrooms. Bitmoji is a cartoon depiction of the teacher. I have attached an example below.

The most popular information regarded engagement strategies to promote participation during virtual learning.

There are still hundreds of training sessions I can participate in and share.  I plan on using this site regularly this year and next.  It has been an invaluable resource with all the changes in learning this year.

Original Grant Overview

Goal

To learn ways to teach virtually and connect with all of my students both on campus and learning remotely from home and to share this new knowledge with my fellow teachers at both Lavern Gaynor Elementary and Herb Cambridge Elementary through emails and video tutorials.

What will be done with my students

SimpleK12 is an online professional development tool that incorporates teacher learning into a social platform, and promotes engagement by letting teachers accumulate points that they can trade in for rewards. It allows teachers to create a profile, track their PD through a transcript of courses and outcomes, and access a broad range of content.

Teachers can communicate with one another through forums, upload resources to share with others. Content is delivered through webinars, which cover a range of subjects from using bitmojis, to creating virtual classrooms and so much more.

The photo above is an example of a Google Classroom slide that I learned how to make from a free webinar that was recently offered on the site.

I will be able to pass on this new knowledge to fellow staff members by sharing the information through emails and homemade video tutorials.

Benefits to my students

Content is current and regularly updated which will allow me to continuously grow and improve the ways I am delivering content to my students and staff. Content covers training on virtual and standard teaching practices.

The cost covers two years of membership and will benefit all of my students and staff at both schools for years to come.

Budget Narrative

Budget covers two years of full access to the entire catalog of professional development trainings, all blogs and teaching toolkits at SimpleK12.com
