Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 150

With the help of your grant money, I was able to purchase

t-shirts for our ambassador students who assist new students on campus.  Our ambassadors provide tours and help new students assimilate to the the school.  

 

I created a We Dine Together lunch room that has games and puzzles for students to play and create a safe welcoming environment for all students who want to particpate.   All new students are invited to this room as they assimilate and try and make new friends.  It is also for those kids who are not new, but don't have someone to sit with.   I am proud of this lunch room as there are many students who would otherwise be sitting by themselves out on campus, but now they have a place to go that they feel welcomed in.

Original Grant Overview

Goal

To provide a sense of community and belonging within our student body. Students learn better when they feel connected to their friends and a larger school community. We want all students to feel welcomed and safe at North Naples Middle School 

 

What will be done with my students

Students will:
-Provide school tours to incoming new students.
-Reach out to students who appear isolated or alone at morning/lunch period
-Attend regular meetings to help facilitate and brainstorm other ways to reach more students who may need peer support/friendship
-Participate in chalk art, board games, card games and other social activities that promote a sense of belonging and "feel good" vibes
 

 

Benefits to my students

The students will be able to:
Make connections with peers they otherwise may not interact with
Create a positive social atmosphere on our campus
Have a safe haven to go without fear or rejection 

 

Budget Narrative

I plan to have pizza 2x/month during our lunch meetings
I plan to order t-shirts for all We Dine Members ($8-10/shirt) to promote unity
During our lunch meetings, students like to gather and play board games ($15-20/each)
Craft supplies for spreading cheer/happiness around our campus
