Thank you to the following investor for funding this grant.
Harry Debes Family Foundation - $500.00
The goal of this grant is to help students practice and Master their basic operation facts (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) facts necessary to be successful in elementary math. This will better prepare them for middle school and beyond if they can learn their facts.
Students will have a access to Xtra math, a fluency practice program. They will be able at arrival time, in class or at home practice their facts. The program target the facts they do not know in small chunks. Xtra math also allows for differentiation as the times, operation, and practice length can be adjusted for each student. Students will be checked on their facts regularly using the program and their data will be sent to teachers weekly. Students can track their progress to see their growth and set goals.
Students who are still struggling to learning their basic operation facts in elementary will continue to struggle in math in middle and high school. If students have access to fluency practice at school and at home they will be provided the opportunity to become better at their math facts which will impact their ability to solve harder concepts such as area, volume, complete long division, work with fractions, etc.
The funds will be used to purchase a 1 year subscription to Xtra math so that all students will have access to fluency practice.
