My classroom goal is to have 100% of the students actively engaged during Art class. One way to achieve this goal is by utilizing the on-line platform program entitled Nearpod. This program can be used in both the brink & mortar classroom and e-learning environments. The program allows me to differentiate instruction for each student and provides immediate feedback on their understanding of Art and 21st century technology concepts.

NearPod:

Thank you so much for your generous contribution to Village Oaks Elementary School, for $349.00. We extend our gratitude for your continued support of the Art & Instructional Resource funding through your grant making activity.

This grant was used to introduce all students to the History of the Thanksgiving Holiday traditions. Students moved through a well-rounded online lesson about the history of Thanksgiving where they interacted with virtual field trips, collaborative sharing boards, drawing and quizzes about the subject. I am delighted to say that I am so happy to have 100% engagement and the student’s enjoying success.

Thanks Again,

Original Grant Overview

Goal

My classroom goal is to have 100% of the students actively engaged during Art class. One way to achieve this goal is by utilizing the on-line platform program entitled Nearpod. This program can be used in both the brink & mortar classroom and e-learning environments. The program allows me to differentiate instruction for each student and provides immediate feedback on their understanding of Art and 21st century technology concepts.

What will be done with my students

As the Art Educator I plan on applying lessons developed by Nearpod’s Art specialists across all grade levels to enhance the students learning. These lessons incorporate a variety of learning tools (to name a few): drawing, virtual field trips, polls, quizzes, collaboration, and open-ended discussion questions. As students submit their responses, I will have a concrete technological document of the students’ understanding and completion of the Art Education learning goals. This year I would like to extend the membership that was granted last year to utilize all the lessons contained in Nearpod and the bank of lessons that I added to Nearpod’s library. Finally, if this grant is accepted I hope to work with a fellow educator during our after-school literacy program to extend our students learning in a unique and innovating way!

Benefits to my students

With the addition of e-learning it is more important than ever to find ways to engage the students on their level. Also, the students need to expand their understanding and usage of appropriate, safe, and educational learning platforms.

Budget Narrative

The proposed grant would continue the one-year license for my classroom to the on-line program Nearpod. Thank You
