Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 1067

The outcome of this grant is not measureable by data, but I would say all students at GGM are impacted by having the school be a welcoming a kind place. This club helps school culture, and that positively affects all students.

Original Grant Overview

Goal

To create a group to welcome all students to meet people and feel included.

What will be done with my students

I will work with GGM staff members to create a "core" group of students who will plan events and activities to include new students to GGM and students who need friends. The students will run this group that will help to make GGM a welcoming place that includes all students!
Examples: "Chalk the Walks" Students will write positive/inspirational messages with chalk on the walkways.
"Welcome to the GGM Family" new students will get a sweet note and a school supply/snack when they are new to the school. These will be given to them by a grade level representative of the We Dine Together team.

"Mix it up day" students at all 3 lunches will be encouraged to sit with a new person/group at lunch!
The students in the group will come up with more ideas too!

Benefits to my students

All students who want to be a part of this group will benefit socially and emotionally. The "core" group will get experience in student leadership. All students will benefit by having GGM be even more of a welcoming and kind place to be.
