Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 570

Positive behavior support, through positive referrals, supports our students' positive behaviors. Students get a certificate and a reward for each positive referral a staff member writes. Positive referrals are written for students going above and beyond with one of our school-wide expectations; Successful, Organized, Attend, and Respectful.

The year before I started rewarding students for their positive referrals, staff members wrote a total of 572 positive referrals all year. This year, the second year into the program, staff members have written 1,221 positive referrals by March. Rewarding students has led to more positive student behavior!

Original Grant Overview

Goal

At Golden Gate Middle, we want to encourage high achieving and responsible teens. Through a number of different motivational programs, students will be recognized for their academic achievement and positive behavior each quarter.

What will be done with my students

Students will be recognized for their hard work within all classes and disciplines. Teachers will have the opportunity to highlight students growth mindset, effort, and completion of academic goals.

Benefits to my students

Not only will the students that are recognized for their achievement see the fruits of their labors, all students will see positive behaviors to exemplify as a Falcon. Let's focus on the gains and the positive work of our our students at GGM!

Budget Narrative

The $200 will be used for prizes for students that grow from quarter to quarter. The prizes have not been determined, but we will recognize hundreds of students throughout the year, so they will reach far and wide.
