Goal

To provide a sense of community and belonging within our student body. Students learn better when they feel connected to their friends and a larger school community. We want all students to feel welcomed and safe at North Naples Middle School.  

What will be done with my students

Students will:
-receive an invitation to come to a designated lunch gathering room for new students or students who may not have someone to sit with
-Provide school tours to incoming new students.
-Reach out to students who appear isolated or alone during lunch period. There is a designated We Dine Together lunch area where anyone is welcome to come to.
-Attend regular meetings to help facilitate and brainstorm other ways to reach more students who may need peer support/friendship
-Participate in chalk art, board games, card games and other social activities that promote a sense of belonging and "feel good" vibes
 

Benefits to my students

The students will be able to:
Make connections with peers they otherwise may not interact with
Create a positive social atmosphere on our campus
Have a safe haven to go without fear or rejection
This is my 3rd year with the We Dine Together club. I am proud of the club and what it has done for students who otherwise would be isolated. This club creates friendships and belonging. It also gives our students who like to be "helpers" a chance to utilize their skills. 

Budget Narrative

I plan to have pizzas during our lunch meetings with ambassadors and also for our new student luncheons
I plan to order t-shirts for all We Dine Members ($8-10/shirt) to promote unity
During our lunch meetings, students like to gather and play board games ($15-20/each)
Craft supplies for spreading cheer/happiness around our campus
