Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 35

The impact of this grant helped to fund our cooking activities. The cooking activities help our students follow directions reading written and visual supported recipes. The students then had to collect the items from the proper places and then complete the recipe. Our students love doing anything with food because at the end they get to enjoy whatever they cooked. It also provides a time for us to practice our manners and social skills.

Some of the recipies we did were:

  • Breakfast fruit sudaeas
  • BBQ chicken Sandwiches
  • Tacos
  • Quesadillas
  • Breakfast Tacos
  • Pancakes
  • Waffles
  • Eggs and Toast
  • Cookies
  • Cupcakes
  • Cakes
  • Brownies
  • Spaghetti with Garlic Bread
  • Baked Ziti
  • and many more!!

None of these would have been possible without the support from this grant!! Thanks again for helping our classroom provide more hands on opportunities for our students.

Original Grant Overview

Goal

The goal would be for our transition level students to practice cooking skills which helps to teach them real world skills that they will need to be as close to independent as possible!

What will be done with my students

We will use the money to go toward many cooking activities. The funds will be divided between 3 classrooms. Students will be making a shopping list based on the recipe, shopping for the ingredients and then preparing the recipe.

Benefits to my students

Students benefit by this activity because they are able to practice real life skills that will benefit them once they complete the program. It gives them the opportunity to go out shopping to follow a list to get things needed to complete the recipe. They then will be able to cook and enjoy it!

Budget Narrative

Each classroom would receive $600 dollars to spend on various cooking activities they do with their students.

Items

# Item Cost
1 Classroom 1 $600.00
2 Classroom 2 $600.00
