The goal of the We Dine Together (WDT) Club is to build a community of leaders who will be of service to others. Focusing on new students, they will be able to assimilate into the school culture, students will form friendships, and learn to accept one another. We want to foster a sense of belonging, where all feel welcome. Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 300

Thank you for funding the We Dine Together Club at Pine Ridge Middle School. Throughout the year, we met weekly, and once a month had a luncheon with different themes, including Pizza Parties, Ice Cream Socials, and Cookies and Candy.

We wrote over 200 kindness notes and distributed them to the band students at PRM.

We made glitter calming jars with the IBI students, to help with self-regulation.

We had a spring egg hunt, and a lot of students commented that they never participated in an egg hunt before or when they were little.

Two student appointed leaders attended the state organized We Dine together program, called Be Strong, where they were able to act as the student state representative learning about Awareness, Acts of Kindness, Resilience training and Advocacy.

Students had a safe place to eat lunch, if they did not feel comfortable in the main cafeteria. We met in a side classroom that was more private and less intimidating.

Students acted as ambassadors to new students entering the school throughout the year.

We made friendship bracelets to wear and share.

New friendships were developed, and lots of fun was had!

Goal

The goal of the We Dine Together (WDT) Club is to build a community of leaders who will be of service to others. Focusing on new students, they will be able to assimilate into the school culture, students will form friendships, and learn to accept one another. We want to foster a sense of belonging, where all feel welcome. What will be done with my students

Students in WDT Club will provide school tours and be a lunch buddy to new students. We will have a monthly pizza luncheon for new students. Room 169 will be designated for the monthly pizza luncheon, as well as meeting with the WDT leaders and club members 2x/month. One student will be identified as the "Be Strong" Student State Representative. This student is identified as one that spreads kindness, positivity, and speaks up for others. Four students will be identified in four key areas- arts, athletics, academics & diffabilities. Four key areas to be addressed will be resilience training, acts of kindness, advocacy, and awareness.

Benefits to my students

The students will help new students to feel welcomed and decrease their anxiety. The students will interact with new students and also existing students who may be isolated. We will create a safe place to go without fear of rejection. We will promote and create a sense of community and tolerance.
