Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 20

We created an e portfoilio with the goal of exploring and establishing career goals and creating information for scholarship applications.

These portfolios are stored on their school issued computers and we will add/update the information onto the e portfoilios every year.

Each page addresses information from a section of their lives that will be required for essays and post high school applications, scholarships, FASFA,etc.

Original Grant Overview

Goal

To teach the 7 Habits of Highly effective TEENS using a personal work book. To teach financial success "rules" using this personal workbook as a segue between personal habits and handling money.

What will be done with my students

I will use this book every Tuesday and Thursday with 19 sophomores. I will be teaching this same group for 3 years until they graduate in 2024. This book defines the 7 habits for living your best life. Combine those principles with how to invest in mutual funds, how to invest in stocks, how to invest in IRA's, etc. To teach students ultimately to get as much pleasure from saving as they do from spending. Identify lifetime goals and the steps needed to implement a plan.

Benefits to my students

To connect with each other in the classroom and communicate with each other developing plans for their futures. To shift using and seeing technology as an informational source rather than an entertainment source. To develop habits that will benefit them for their entire lives. In this workbook students can identify their goals and aspirations and develop the steps to achieve and make their dreams a reality.

Budget Narrative

I would like each student to have their own book to use for this year and in the future possibly purchase the next book which is: The 6 Most Important Decisions You'll Ever Make: A Guide for Teens: Updated for the Digital Age. We need 19 books and 1 book for the teacher.
