My students are benefiting from a positive learning environment where their positive behavior is rewarded with desk pets! I have seen a tremndous improvement in classroom participation and motivation since implementing the desk pets. The students are working towards their goal of earning a desk pet by receiving 10 punches on a punch card. They are motivated and excited to earn a new pet each day!

Original Grant Overview

Goal

My goal is to increase positive behavior in the classroom with P.B.I.S incentives.

What will be done with my students

The latest craze in the classroom are desk pets. They are 3- dimensional erasers for students to keep at their desks. I would use the desk pet erasers as positive reinforcement in the classroom. Students currently earn squares on a card when they follow classroom/school rules and expectations. Each time a students fills up their card they will have the opportunity to adopt a desk pet of their choice.

Benefits to my students

Students will benefit from experiencing a positive learning environment where positive behavior is reinforced. Students will gain skills and tools they need to be successful in and out of the classroom.

Budget Narrative

I will purchase assorted 3d animal pencil erasers and clear plastic cupcake containers as their "home" for the students to keep at their desks.
