Students embraced flexible seating and loved the opportunity to sit in new learning spaces. They learned how to collaborate and share learning spaces. Community was further built with flexible seating conversations. Students learned more about where and how they learn best in the classroom.

Goal

To promote collaboration, independence, and responsibilty within our first grade classroom.

What will be done with my students

Students will learn about flexible seating and have the opportunity to sit or stand where they learn best.

Benefits to my students

Flexible seating promotes autonomy in learning. Students are able to take ownership of their learning by having seating choices. It also promotes collaboration and sharing within the classroom.
