Goal

Our goal is provide one recorder per students for 4th Grade, and 5th Grade.

What will be done with my students

Students will begin a six month unit beginning in January, and last into May. For 4th Grade, recorders will continue into their fifth grade year as well. Students will learn how to play the recorder with proper techniques, fingerings, and embouchure. Students will learn how to play several songs, ranging from 3 note songs to more complex songs. Students will also preform within their classes, and a reordered performance for the community.

Benefits to my students

With these recorders, students will have the opportunity to improve their musicality. Recorders will aide in learning musical theory, and preforming notes in real time. Recorders will also improve their musical literacy using the treble clef.
Students will also gain experience preforming in an ensemble, developing their sense of self regulation to progress in their ability. Also, beginning with the recorder, will open the door for students to move onto a concert band instrument easily one the move on to middle school.

Budget Narrative

Budget will cover the cost of the recorders, including the shipping. Other materials, including fingering chart and music, are already provided by the Quaver program installed in Collier County.
