Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 200

The students in third and fourth grade were able to do 8 weeks of sewing this year. They learned the basics through the 4H program that came to the school. As a result they made several projects and are looking forward to applying these schools not just in real life but in fifth grade when they become entrepreneurs. The sewing machines have shown the kids that they can make things on their own and that this skill can be for everyone.

Original Grant Overview

Goal

The fifth grade students will be participating in entrepreneurship. I would like for them to have the opportunity to use sewing machine to make products to create, market, and sell.

What will be done with my students

The students will learn to sew. With this skill they can create original and unique products to market in their teams/companies. Students will be able to take fabrics and make a variety of products. From clothing, to teddy bears, and even pillows.

Benefits to my students

Students will be able to benefit from two skills with the sewing machine. They will be able to works as a team/company to come up with an idea, create it and market it, and learn the skill of sewing as well. Both of these skills will benefit my students in the future.
