Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 94

We would not have been able to complete this project without your generous donation.  Having access to these tools so early in the process really helped us be able to incorporate the materials into building our businesses.  The early access allowed the students the ability to practice their skills early and they were able to use the materials to build the inventory for the Entrepreneurial program. The students have been giving up their recess time to come to my computer lab to learn how to use the Cricut Design Space and the Cricut machine to make their products.  I am very proud of their initiative.

Original Grant Overview

Goal

This year we will be kicking off our new Entrepreneurial 5th grade program. This program will prepare our students to identify and address both challenges and opportunities that exist in their day to day lives. The goal of this grant is to help support our students throughout this process.

What will be done with my students

Students will collaborate with their teams to create a solution to a problem that they have identified. This solution will then be developed into a product, which they will create using reused or recycled materials. This grant will help with additional materials that the teams will need to produce their products. These products will then be sold at a school supported marketplace later in the school year.

Benefits to my students

Throughout this school year students will be taught entrepreneurial skills such as problem solving, financial and digital literacy, teamwork, creativity, and communication. At the conclusion of the program students will need to self-evaluate the success (or failure) of their business adventure.
