Thank you to the following investor for funding this grant.
Publix SuperMarkets, Inc - $871.95
My goal is to provide all of the students at Herbert Cambridge Elementary with hands on Science activities all year long.
Classes will come to the science lab once or twice a week to participate in a Science activity, experiment, project or other fun event. My goal is to dissect owl pellets with fourth grade to determine what prey the owl ate and learn about food chains, make root beer floats with third grade to learn about solids, liquids, and gasses, observe caterpillars creating a chrysalis and then emerging as a butterfly, and many other fun hands on Science activities.
Fun and educational hands on Science activities require a lot of materials that can only be used once such as aluminum foil, clear plastic cups, pipe cleaners, and Ziploc bags and a few items we can reuse such as handheld lenses and thermometers.
My goal is for students to become as familiar with Science tools as they are as to using a pencil in class. I want them to understand what the tools are for and how to use them while learning about Science.
My students will know what to use the various tools in the Science lab for and how to correctly use them while learning the different Science standards through fun and educational hands on activities.
Consumable materials would be pipe cleaners, coffee filters, aluminum foil, clear plastic cups, supplies for root beer floats, and other materials needed for Science activities.
