Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 40

This project has impacted my students in several positive ways! These tags and bracelets have made them feel proud and successful. They light up when they earn one and wear them all the time! My students are so much more motivated to read and succeed because of these tags. I have received notes and emails from parents expressing their gratitude when their child receives a tag. They are appreciative of how it makes their child feel and also perform. I feel these tags truly help raise self-esteem in my students. Thank you!

Original Grant Overview

Goal

The goal of this grant is to reinforce positive behavior as well as Steven Covey's 7 Habits in the classroom, around campus and even at home.

What will be done with my students

Students will be rewarded with "brag tags" for doing great things at school and at home. They will also be rewarded when students need encouragement and support. They will be worn around their necks on necklaces to show off their great work.

Benefits to my students

When a student is happy and enjoys school, he will want to be there and will be engaged in learning. The more a child is engaged, the more he will learn. This grant will provide the positive feedback for our students. It will help with behavior but also with student engagement. VME is a Leader in Me school. We have been practicing Steven Covey's 7 habits for the last 10 years. We were the first school in the county to receive Lighthouse status. Covey's habits help students to communicate successfully with others, how to listen, how to work together, how to get along and many other skills. These skills will help all students be successful learners and humans.

Budget Narrative

These tags are for two classrooms and will be given to students as they demonstrate the different behaviors or when in need of encouragement.
