Impact to My Classroom

The seat sacs have made a huge impact in my second grade classroom. The oraganizational skills of second graders is one of the hardest things to teach a 7/8 year old. Organization is a key component to success in upper grade levels. Students learn to journal and have a notebook for each subject area. The seat sacs have provided our class with a quick and easy transistion between subject areas as well as a learning tool to stay organized! This will be a grant that lasts for years! Thank you.

Goal

Help students have organizational strategies in place to help them succeed in being the best they can be in their learning!

What will be done with my students

The students will use the seat sacks to organize their free reading materials right at their own desk.

Benefits to my students

Books will be on hand right away at anytime, including times when work is completed. They will be especially available for free reading even when only very few minutes can be snuck in. According to one of many sources, like edutopia.org, There’s a powerful academic impact, new research reveals, when students are voracious, voluntary readers. With the books they have chosen right at their fingertips, they are more apt to pull them out for extra minutes of pleasure reading. The power in the choice to read what they want to read, paired with an organized way to keep their books at their fingertips, gives our students much power in their learning.

The budget is for a set of 24 seat sacks. There will be no shipping cost. This order will be placed through Amazon Prime.
