Goal

To teach the students about positive and negative space in Art and the history behind sunk relief printing that dates back to the early Egyptians.

What will be done with my students

We will study the different types of reliefs and where we can see them in history (Greece, France, Italy, Egypt). Linoleum cutting is an engaging lesson that helps students to understand the positive and negative space concept along with learning Art History all in one.

Benefits to my students

A hands on experience that I know students will thoroughly enjoy and will remember forever- because I remember my first time! I want to be able to share this experience with my students.

Budget Narrative

Linoleum cutting requires very specific tools and materials that I do not have. These are the basics I would need to fully be able to create this with my students.
