My goal is for students to work together and communicate while they explore visual art through printmaking. The endless possibilities of printmaking will help students learn that there are no mistakes. This will open a new way of building self confidence while learning how to learn, create, and execute.

Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 514

We would like to thank you for your unselfish contribution to purchase printmaking art supplies for our classroom. Your donation is very important to us, because it has allowed us to use our artistic ability to create so many wonderful creations!

This year, budget cuts have affected the art budget and my ability to purchase art materials for our students in a low-income area. Your contribution has opened the door for so many art projects this year. The students were so excited to use a new art tool as they learn about the art elements! Thank you again!

Original Grant Overview

Goal

My goal is for students to work together and communicate while they explore visual art through printmaking. The endless possibilities of printmaking will help students learn that there are no mistakes. This will open a new way of building self confidence while learning how to learn, create, and execute.

What will be done with my students

Students will use foam print plates to create their own repeated designs to learn the printmaking progress. Inspired by Andy Warhol, students will create a checkered pattern using brayers. By studying works of previous artists, students will examine cultural and historical influences that inspire artist. Then, students will create their own printing plates to create contrast and texture through overlapping using ink and gel plates.

Benefits to my students

Printmaking is a wonderful way for students to explore and produce visual art while problem solving, reflecting, communicating, decision making, and working together to grow artistically. Through purposeful practice, young artists learn to manage, master, and refine simple, then complex techniques.

Budget Narrative

Materials will be purchased through Blick Art and Amazon.
