Goal

The goal is to help students who are struggling in math to learn through hands on experiences. As a result, students can learn from the concrete to the abstract as they improve their math skills.

What will be done with my students

As a split math coach, I will be working with the students at two schools (GVM & PRM) in small groups to teach these students in a way that speaks to them. I will be able to provide hands on experiences that make math fun to learn as they improve their foundational skills in math to better prepare for the on grade lessons.

Benefits to my students

These materials purchased will help students improve their foundational math skills and improve test scores, but most importantly they will better understand the math concepts as they utilize the manipulatives and play hands on games, instead of just memorize steps and work from a textbook/worksheets/computer.
