Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 52

With the kind generosity of this grant we were able to provide all 52 Transition work study ESE students with a $25 gift card to a place they picked out prior to the ceremony. The students worked so hard all school year going off campus Monday- Thursday each week at participating community buisnesses for their internships. This was a wonderful way to award them for all of their hard work! Each student left the award ceremony so proud of their certificate and the gift card. Students picked places such as their favorite fast food resturants, favorite coffee shops, favorite pizza shops, movie theater and Amazon. Big thank you from all of the Transition ESE teachers at Naples High School!

Original Grant Overview

Goal

The goal is to provide our students with a "paycheck" in the form of a gift card at the end of their internships.  

 

What will be done with my students

Our students are placed in a variety of school or community settings to gain valuable job skills in order to increase their options to become a productive member of our society.  

 

Benefits to my students

Businesses accept our student interns on a volunteer basis and at the end of the internship we would like to provide them with a "payday" to recognize their hard work.  

 

Budget Narrative

The money will go to purchasing the gift cards to various locations. Each gift card will have a $20 value to a location that interests the student.
