Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 20

In my classroom student engagement is key to success! Students participate in different activities that allow them to learn and stay fully engaged throughout the lesson. We started the year off making friendship sushi, then we reviewed our math concepts with a glow room. My favorite was working on central idea with a construction room transformation, students constructed tables with the base of the table being the central idea and the legs were the support. In November we held a Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade and designed our own balloons for the parade. These activities provided my learners with a new level of learning!

Original Grant Overview

Goal

My goal is to have 100% engagement from students during lessons.

What will be done with my students

Students will be participating in lessons that will capture their attention and keep them fully engaged. Each month I will plan room transformations or activities that will go hand in hand with our ELA, Math, or Science standards. For example, in September: friendship sushi, October: glow room transformation, spooky steam activity, and hands-on science experiment, November: central idea construction room transformation and Macy’s Thanksgiving parade activities, December: Text feature surgery and Gingerbread house steam activity, January: New Year’s activity, February: minute to win it and donut shop room transformation, March: basketball book madness, April: review carnival, May: baking supplies for Nailed it activity and Luau room transformation. These room transformations and activities will take students to a new level of learning!

Benefits to my students

These engaging activities will make learning fun and meaningful and help in their continuous love of learning. Students will be excited to come to school, participate in class discussions, interact will ELA and math standards in a unique way, and promote our class culture.
