Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 600

The light diffusers help a great deal in the computer lab.  With no access to the outside we not only diffuse the fluorescent lighting but we have a different outlook, it is always bright and sunny in the tech lab.

Original Grant Overview

Goal

My goal would be to minimize the glare that the students are exposed to. Not only are they staring at their computers all day but they are also under the flourescent lights all day.

What will be done with my students

My classroom has no natural lights as it is an interior classroom, so we need to have lights on all the time. As the computer teacher they not only have the lights on they are using their computers during class. I would like to get the light filters to minimize the glare from the flourescent lights. The sky image would also bring a little of the outside into our interior classroom.

Benefits to my students

These light defusers would help in minimizing the harsh glare, flickers, eyestrain, headaches, and anxiety caused by typical ceiling lights & fluorescent lighting.
