Our goal is to reward with books and encourage a love of reading. In order to do that we need books and lots of them. Thanks to the grant we were able to replenish books at all grade levels for the students to get from the vending machine as a prize.

Goal

My goal is to ensure that when students are rewarded for positive behavior that there are plenty of books for them to choose from in the Book Vending Machine.

What will be done with my students

Students earn coins based on criteria for meeting positive behaviors. As a results they can go to the vending machine and select a book. As you can imagine when a school has 600 plus students we need lots of books. I am requesting a variety of books for all ages to ensure that there is always something to look forward to. An adventure to fall into when they are rewarded for being good. Reading can be fun not just a task or assignment. This machine has taught the students that.

Benefits to my students

We are fortunate enough to have a Book Vending Machine at our school. Students are rewarded for their positive behaviors with a book. Rewarding good behavior and instilling a love for reading is a win-win.
